Chaga extract is more powerful than just dried chaga. It's all about the concentration of substances called antioxidants, which are able to destroy harmful free radicals. These free radicals are the main cause of aging and disease.
Raw chaga contains only about 15% of the chromogenic complex (melatonin), while our freeze-dried chaga extract contains up to 57%!
There is no point in eating raw chaga because chaga is made up of chitin. Chitin cannot be digested by our bodies. To break the chitin walls it is necessary to use hot water. This allows the health-promoting substances of chaga to be converted into a digestible form.

Two grades of chaga extract: spray dried chaga extract and freeze dried chaga extract.
There are two types of chaga extract on the market today. Both are produced by water extraction, but with different drying methods. One method is called 'spray-drying', which uses hot air, and the other is called 'freeze-drying', which removes moisture by sublimation. The latter doesn't damage the DNA molecules of Chaga and such an extract is more 'bioactive' and potent. It is more "alive" than the thermally processed extract.

SD and FD extracts even differ in their organoleptic properties.
Thermally dried Chaga extract is light brown in colour, has a dusty structure and is not readily soluble in water. Such a light brown extract has no more than 40% of chromogenic complex content.
Freeze-dried Chaga extract looks like a fine, dark brown or black powder with solid, shiny particles. It is instantly soluble in water and has a pleasant taste.
