REISHI

Scientists around the world are now investigating the beneficial properties of reishi mushrooms. In China, this mushroom has been popular since ancient times and has long been used in folk medicine. Reishi is also known as the "mushroom of immortality".  Reishi is also highly prized in Japan. In Russia, it grows in the Altai and Sayan mountains around Lake Baikal.

Reishi contains many substances useful for the human body, proteins, amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates (including fungal polysaccharides), enzymes, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins (C, B, D, E, carotenoids), inorganic substances (potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, phosphorus, sodium, zinc, cobalt, boron).

Reishi mushrooms have many health-promoting properties. Reishi is believed to contribute to longevity and rejuvenation. It has antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antioxidant, powerful anti-aging and anti-tumour effects (usually used in combination with shiitake, maitake, chaga or veselka mushrooms), has beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system, thins the blood, reduces the rate of blood clotting and blood sugar levels, dilates the coronary vessels of the heart, cures and prevents the development of coronary heart disease, thrombosis and heart attack, helps with hypertension, arrhythmia, tachycardia, gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, haemorrhoids, thyroid and liver diseases, respiratory (including asthma) and mental diseases, epilepsy. It is used in the treatment of arthritis, allergies, nephritis, diabetes mellitus and multiple sclerosis. Taking Reishi extract helps to restore eyesight and prevents the development of cataracts.

In the treatment of malignant tumours, this mushroom is most effective against cancer of the oesophagus, liver, kidney, pancreas, brain and bones. Reishi also helps recovery from chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

In addition, conventional drying of the mushrooms using heat treatment destroys most of the beneficial substances that give Reishi its therapeutic properties. Once again, we would like to emphasise the important difference between wild and cultivated mushrooms. The wild species have much more healthy elements and potency than the cultivated ones. We use only wild Reishi mushrooms collected in the mountains of the Altai and Sayan regions. These reishi mushrooms are in no way comparable to Chinese reishi mushrooms, for example, which are grown on grass on Chinese farms, not on trees.
